"A 'choose your own adventure' game about going up, not down"

This game is a joke. I wanted to experiment in using minimalism as a way to parodize a game genre : the “choose your own adventure” type of narrative games. I intended to do so while also poking fun at the popular game Snakes and Ladders. 

If you play this game, you will be asked to make a decision every time you flip a page from the book (or everything to arrive at a page in the PDF). The twist? There is absolutely nothing that informs your decision. 

No narratively-meaningful consequence for your choice exists. No context is there to give you a sense of direction or to help make sense of the multiple options that you have to choose from. It is almost as if you were moving around this “adventure” at random, just like a very popular game of reptiles and climbable structures. 

I found success in using minimalism as a tool for parody. 

Apart from making this a joke, I wanted to know what would happen if I were to remove the entire narrative layer from a genre of games based around telling a story. I was very pleased to find out that the result was a game that was still playable, albeit very minimalistically
